The former refuge for the seafarers of the Mare Nostrum is now one of the largest natural harbors in Mallorca. It is only 11 kilometers to the associated town of Felantix. Today Porto Colom is one of the most picturesque spots on the island. In the historic port of Es Riuetó you will find the typical small houses with their colorful windows and doors. The old pier impresses with its traditional boathouses, the barraques, whose gates are also brightly painted. Despite its development, Porto Colom has remained a fishing port and today spreads the unique flair of a port with romantic corners. In addition, the Far de Porto Colom lighthouse, which dates back to 1860, underlines the idyll of this large natural harbour. The real fishing character, traditional handicrafts, close ties with the country, local dances and their own typical dishes characterize this versatile, tireless and individual piece of earth. Prehistoric witnesses, hidden coves, charming little towns and, above all, warm-hearted people have inside them the splendor of the Mallorcan essence.
